Nowadays, when someone mentions Feng Shui, people generally associate it with space clearing - or moving the furniture around.  In fact, it is more accurately likened to acupuncture for the home, office or business, as it is based on the idea of balancing energy or "chi", as the Chinese call it.

Ideally, the "chi" flows smoothly and evenly through the home or business, bringing with it prosperity and good fortune.  In Nature, "chi" rarely, if ever, moves in straight lines.  When it is made to flow this way, it moves faster and is considered unfavourable in comparison to the gentle meandering movement that a Feng Shui Consultant aims to create.  Feng Shui in Chinese literally means "Wind and Water".

Not only is the movement of the "Chi" in "Feng Shui important, so also is its quality.  Everyone is aware of the difference in atmosphere between a room or office that is hardly ever used and feels flat, and a family living room or a thriving business.

Feng Shui Consultants are also aware of geopathic stress, i.e. electro-magnetic energy fields usually associated with underground water, fault lines, and mineral formations.  Long term exposure to geopathic stress has a negative impact on human health.  Therefore, it is essential to avoid or neutralize its effects.  Your Feng Shui Consultant will also advise you about offsetting electro-magnetic frequency pollution from computers and other high tec equipment. Changes for the Year 2010 & General Feng Shui Advice

CHANGES FROM 14th FEBRUARY 2010

Do the following Changes for the Year of the Tiger:

Move the 6 hollowed tubed metal wind chime to the South West of your home, as measured from the geometric centre of your space.

Remove all mirrors, red objects, cut crystal glassware and round glass faceted crystal balls from the South West.

Also, for this particular year only (1 out of 9), place 6 coins in the East.

NB Leave any small round convex mirrors that you may have on the outside of any bathroom doors that fall in the South Western sector.

Avoid doing house repairs and renovations in the North of your property and in the East North East.

Avoid facing South and East North East and avoid doing house repairs in the North and the East North East, even if these are good directions for you, just for the coming year.

NB If you are completely renovating a property this does not apply, just do the Changes for the  Year.

For everyone, house and office moves to the South West 60 degrees, North East 60 degrees, and East 30 degrees are best avoided, as is holiday travel in these directions.  If you must do a home or office move in one of these direction, having your property Feng Shui-ed is a good counter measure.

If you must travel in either of these directions, then meditation or spiritual practice for
1/2 hour-1 hour every day is an excellent counter measure.

Remember if you are an atheiest, then time spent alone in nature for 1/2-1 hour works too. email us here for more

HOME AND OFFICE MOVES
If you need to move house or office directly South West (60º), North East (60º)  or East (30º), it is especially important to create good Feng Shui in your new environment to counter-balance the effects of your move.  This applies to everyone this year.

and as a general rule:

1.  Clear Clutter - Anything you don't want or love is taking up your energy as well as  your
     space.

2.  Light all 4 corners of your living room.

3.
  Do bathroom corrections:-
Keep the plugs in the sink and the lid of the toilet seat down.
Have as many green plants in the area as possible.
Have some red objects in the area.Place a small round convex mirror (no more than 5-6
     cms in diameter)

4.  Round leaved plants are also an excellent addition to your home, though not in  the bedroom, as they compete with you for oxygen at night whilst you are sleeping.

5.  Check that you are not sleeping over geopathic stress.  This can affect your ongoing
state of health and wellbeing.  If your health is of primary concern, ensure that you are not
sleeping over geopathic stress or vortex energy. There are  devices that correct geopathic
stress and vortex energy can be corrected with a  clear upright crystal.

However, it is always better, where possible to move your bed off these areas.
